Like a Boss

I have so much to catch you guys up on...(mainly my BFFs trip to Utah) but for now I have a little something else on the ole agenda.  This week has been uber strange for me thinking about all I want and everything I don't do.  Then there was this moment during my self loathing process I like to do  I realized....I HAVE ACCOMPLISHED SOMETHING GREAT.

Insert back story here...
Imagine I am 19 years old and hating my parents to death because they are getting a divorce.  I grew up in a perfect house, with a perfect family, with perfect friends, in a perfect little country club protecting us from the rest of the world.  And then BOOM like that it all shatters....Okay maybe that is a little dramatic, but nevertheless---- I wanted my parents to be pissed at me so I could tell them to fuck off and they couldn't be mad at me because "LOOK WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO US!!!".  Again, I realize this may be a little dramatic. Anywhoooo I started smoking and I couldn't wait for them to see me smoking!!  They were mad for about 2 minutes and shook their head at me and that was that.  They weren't pissed and I was hooked.  DAMMIT THE BACK FIRE!!!!

Fast forward to September 26, 2011.  I reflect... "sheesh I've been smoking for a long ass time...a pack a day...for no identifiable reason" hmmmmm and I left to go see my doctor.  We talked and these words came out of my mouth voluntarily "Doc...I want to quit smoking".  BAM script written (Chantix) 2 months on the meds and I was done.

I used to plan my day around smoking.  Wake up, smoke, in the car, smoke, going to see friends...make sure you bring lotion, body spray, mouthwash, change of shirt....I mean the list is endless.  And cray cray.

So Happy 1 year anniversary to me!  Smoke free and pink lungs on their way!  YAY!!

Now, having said all that nonsense.  Quitting smoking was something I attempted several times. Quit for a day - try the gum - quit for 2 days - quit for an hour - wear the patch - nothing worked.  It was so hard.  I LOVED smoking.  But smoked for no reason.  It was dumb.  The hardest to give up was the morning smoke with coffee.  Ahhhhh t'was a good way to begin the day.

And now I have finally realized that was such an UH-MAY-ZIIING (yep 3 i's bc Im'm bad ass like that) accomplishment.

I know that if I can do that....

I can do anything.

And maybe that is all the motivation I needed.  To just know that I am capable of something important,

Peace love and strength y'all.

Oh Yo Oh Yo...Catch this....

Fifty bucks grandpa, for seventy-five, the wife can watch.  I do not know why Pretty Woman is stuck in my head right now, but I am fairly certain that I need to start collecting DVD's of all my favorite movies that I still have on VHS...converting them seems like a hassle and since I am addicted to spending money a money saving machine I am sure I can find them on discount somewhere.

Anywhooooooooo the time has come...people today is such a big day for me.  I left Texas about 2.5 years ago and since I left NOT.A.SINGLE.PERSON has come to visit me (*whispering not even my mom).  Sad right? I know I hurts my feel bads sometimes but no more! I will not sit around and sulk any longer.  Reasoning: it just makes me angry.  And angry is so fugly.  Fast forward to Happy Tracey

My friends Suzzie and Ashley are coming tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!  Remember when I wrote the post Panties in a Twist???  Well I never did a follow up post because I have been too excited that they are coming.  I thought about it every single day since August 15th!!! Oh help me Rhonda I have nothing much but a bunch-o rambling today.  After the good ole trip to California with my friend Liz I gained 5 pounds.  How annoying is that?  I literally don't understand why I let myself go EVERY.SINGLE.TIME I go out of town.  So I went from 173.6 to 178.  Too much food, too much booze and only 1 day of exercise.  Seems simple enough but I cannot help myself.  I absolutely go buck wild cray cray every time I leave my house.  It's as if I pretend I am some sort of caged animal when I am home and when I leave for vacay...I FREAK THE HELL OUT.

Anyway my friend Boyle came to town this weekend after she and some friends had a bad week with the loss of a wonderful person (blog post about JP to come later this week) And I was determined to have a good time AND not gain weight!!!  We ate a lot we boozed a lot....and HOLLA hooker I didn't gain any weight!  Actually i lost .2 oz. HAHAHAHAHA What a crack up an accomplishment! Anyway so I signed up for My Fitness Pal (i would have created a link but my stupid ass computer won't work the way I want it so just use your brain and google) and it is SERIOUSLY awesome!  It tracks my calories and I can preplan certain meals, create recipes, add my workouts etc.  It's so great.  This morning I got on the scale and it said 174.6.  Whoopty whoop!  On my way back down and gonna keep going.  Look me up username: treygay11.

I have been committed to this 2.25 loop around my hood and I promised myself I would do it and do it and do it until I didn't have to walk at all.  (seriously the mother f*&%#@! altitude and hilly areas kick my lardo honkus)  So yesterday I ran 1.7 of the 2.25 before I walked!!!  Yipppie!  So pumped. I also beat my fastest time!  DOPPLEGANGER MAGILLICUTTY I must be a runner!  My friend Suzzie and I have decided we are going to run the Rock 'n' Roll Dallas Half Marathon (please see above comments regarding my computer and your brain google) in March 2013.  I have plenty of time to train EVERY DAMN DAY (MMMHMMM I need that shirt from my favorite store)
Yesterday's good news

And here is your food teaser for the day.

Mama slapping happening
Yummmmmmm.  We had some food that needed to be cooked before it went bad so I hooked my house up with Skirt Steak, sauteed mushrooms and onions, Panko crusted baked Zucchini and a tomato/cucumber salad.  Let me just say....the Baked Zucchini is so damn good it will make you want to slap your mom!  For real.

Until the love affair continues.....

California Wrap up

Welcome back to the real world.  What an asshole.  Seriously I wish I could stay on perma vacay and just eat, drink, follow my favorite soccer team, and get tan.  Hmmm yeah that sounds nice.  I went ahead and didn't count any calories, didn't give a crap what I put in my mouth, boozed with my favorite friend, cheered (loud) for my favorite soccer gals, and hung with my super cute fam.

I got on the scale this morning and it said pretty much exactly what I thought it would say "ONE AT A TIME" so I ignored that bitch and got in the shower and got ready for work.  Back to the running and the routine I like to call life.  I think some good stuff is going to happen this week!

Here are some pics from the vacation.
Welcome to California!!!!!
Here is my road trip buddy Liz with the world's best margarita!!!
Why Yes we did stock up on some 2 BUCK CHUCK!!!!
1st stop in Mesquite, NV and Liz made $1 into $2.75!  YAY!!!! Winning!
2nd stop was in Primm, NV.  Liz & I showed great restraint.
No bigs a cool 100+ degrees only allowed for 1 hour at the pool. DYING!
Liz and I made tshirts!  Liz is the creative genius behind the design and she is currently thinking of giving up her career as a Physical Therapist to open up a tshirt shop!
Things got weird.
